When To Send Save the Dates

So, you’ve set a date, you’re starting to plan and wondering when to send out save the dates. To help, we put together a few tips to figure out when to drop your save the dates in the mail.

When should I send Save the dates?

In most cases, you’ll want to mail your save the dates out 4-6 months before your wedding day. This will give guests plenty of time to make sure they keep your day open.

If your wedding is during a holiday weekend or most of your guests will be coming from out of town, you may want to consider sending save the dates even earlier.

What if I’m having a destination wedding?

For a destination wedding, you will definitely want to give your guests plenty of time to plan accordingly. We recommend sending destination save the dates anywhere from 8-12 months before the day.

When should I Order Save the dates?

Our timeline includes an email proofing process with a designer and hand assembly, so we recommend you order about 3 weeks before you hope to have the save the dates in the mail. As long as your wedding date and location are finalized, you are ready to order! Need some extra time to finalize your guest list? If you are ordering digital guest addressing, we won’t need your final guest list until right before final payment.
