BL on the Big Screen: Ricki and the Flash
Beacon Lane Invites Featured In Meryl Streep Movie! Last year we were approached by a Props Manager out of New York about making invites for the movie Ricki and the Flash, that came out this August, starring the one and only Meryl Streep. For the wedding invitation, they wanted a very natural/organic look and feel, so we used our Farm Chic wedding invite for the design. We created it as a boxed invite with burlap ribbon, a burlap box liner, and kraft band and address wrap. The Props Manager also requested for us to print the invitation on seed paper, which they specially ordered for us and had it mailed.
If anyone has seen the trailer and/or the movie, you already know that they focus on Meryl Streep’s character opening the invitation and the camera zooms on it for a couple of seconds. For those of you who haven’t seen the movie yet, check out the preview below! The invite is shown at about 0:02 seconds!
And if you have a chance, go see the full movie (it’s still in theaters). The cutest part about it is that Meryl Streep’s real-life daughter plays her daughter in the movie! And it’s written by Diablo Cody, the same writer from Juno.
